Rocky and Larvae

3 Oct

Three of us visited Rocky this morning before church.  He is doing very well.  He weighed in at 58g.  He was 57g two weeks ago.  He is weaning himself from milk replacer and eating a large variety of foods.  I gave him a Sungold tomato, which he seemed to enjoy.  He licked the juice and chewed the flesh.  In between his wild and rapid scurrying and jumps between the four of us.

Sue reports he remains the star of the classroom and of the whole school.

Last week one morning I saw nine Monarch larvae on the Asclepias at one time.  Here is a photo of four in one frame:

Can you find them all?

Also last week, while picking tomatoes with me Isaac found this poor fellow on the black plastic right near a post hole.  It chose an inappropriate place to make it chrysalis.  I guess.
